Hi there, readers. If you're curious about how the play's going, click on the following link. We've received some really nice audience reviews (and one weird one - by the way that "Achilles heel" he mentioned is, I think, in reference to my character's flaw, and not an allusion to, like, my inability to walk and speak at the same time; this is the downside of unedited audience reviews). Our show image (right there on the left) has been voted "best butt of the fringe" (yes, there are several shows using asses for promotional purposes, but none this nice). We've been trying to lure people in by saying the ass could belong to one of the cast members. Anything for an audience. No pictures of us in the fringe slide shows, unfortunately, though there were many taken at the show, and of me and my girlfriend (in the play - no, I haven't crossed over yet) dancing at the 80s prom. They didn't even publish the photo of the Canadian lipsynch prom band member playing air guitar on my lap. I guess I'm not fringesite worthy. Sigh. I would recommend taking a look at the prom night photos, though. Some are pretty funny. I've only seen two plays so far (damn work and pre-show neurosis), but plan to catch 3 or 4 tomorrow. This is the way it should always be. I can easily walk to 6 or 7 theatres and see dozens of shows ranging from light and funny to depressing and therapeutic to political and angry to unicycling to literary at any time of the afternoon or evening for free. Is this what it's like to live in a country that supports the arts? I guess I'd be willing to give up the free thing as long as it was affordable and eclectic. The problem with state sponsored art is they decide what art is. Well, for the next week I decide. Mwwaaahhahahaha.
addendum: Seeing the baby pic of me right next to the bound and half naked woman is ... somewhat...interesting? disturbing? amusing? it kind of looks like my expression might be a reaction to the representation of women bound and confined by societys physical standards and expectations...prescient? or bombastic and ridiculous? hmmmm...
Glad you had a good opening sweetie, wish I could see your show. I went and looked at the prom photos and had two thoughts:
1. Theatre people know how to have fun.
2. Some poor techie had to run the follow spot...sigh...heeeee.
